Hopefully Girls Will Make Passes At...

Boys who wear glass. Unfortunately for my older son, his trip to the eye doctor this morning did not go as I hoped. It went as I had suspected. The poor boy needs glasses. I must apologize to my son for giving him my terrible vision. He got a "vision is good" from his vision screening at preschool, but the pediatrician did an eye screening the last time we were there and she was not convinced. She was right. So on order is one pair of Silver colored "Red Power Ranger" glasses with transition lens in extra scratch resistance to fit a 5 year old. Wonder how many times I'll be searching for lost glasses? I'm trying not to think about it.
I also took him to a birthday party for 5 year old boys where they were all fighting over a red princess crown (leaving behind the red party hats with bugs on them) because the said it was a Power Ranger Laser hat. I had to break up the fight by yelling "YOU ARE FIGHTING OVER A PRINCESS HAT" to which all the boys immediately froze and dropped the hat like it was on fire. Except for one little boy who scooped it up and ran off yelling "The Power Ranger Hat is Mine".
Then off to Michael's to buy my wooden eggs and paints for this weeks Easter egg painting. And lastly PetSmart for a new Betta fish tank for Fishy Fishy.
Now I'm home, exhausted and ready for bed. And it's only 7:25 pm.

My 8 year old got glasses earlier this year. By default, we also had Delaney's eyes checked too; she was 5 at the time. When the doc said she didn't need glasses, she asked if he would test her again "cause maybe it's getting worse." She idolizes her big sister, so she wanted glasses too. Tell your son, that we dig glasses in my family!

Don't worry, he will get used to it. In the beginning it may take some time. My father gave to me the wonderful heritage of being shortsighted (!) and I had to wear glasses since I was 10 years old, but there are so nice and solid glasses around now I am sure it won't bother him.

The Boy has had glasses since he was 3 - he has terrible astigmatism - and it has been pretty smooth sailing actually (knocking wood like crazy!) I think for my guy, once he realized he could actually see better with the glasses, he was ok with them. We don't have great eye coverage with our health insurance, so it can get expensive, but many times places like LensCrafters have a buy one, get one 50% off for the kids glasses - and they have a good return policy.
They make the kids glasses pretty tough these days - The Boy has only gotten one replacement pair in a year and a half, and we have never lost them because he wears them all day, puts them on the shelf by his bed, and puts them on when he wakes up. He's like an 80 year old man sometimes - so cute!
I'm sure your guy will do well with the glasses once he gets used to them.
